WALKING WITH JESUS THROUGH HIS WORD
 |
|
"God has highly exalted Him and bestowed on Him The Name that is above every name, so that at The Name of Jesus every knee should bow in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" Philippians 2:9-11 (ESV). "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together" Col.1:17 (NIV).
Charles Wesley wrote the following song "O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing
My Great Redeemer's Praise," but earthly words in any language fall totally short of adequately desribing His wonders and glories of our God and King!
"O for a thousand tongues to sing
My great Redeemer's praise,
The glories of my God and King,
The triumphs of His grace.
My gracious Master and my God,
Assist me to proclaim,
To spread thru all the earth abroad
The honors of Thy Name.
Jesus! The Name that charms our fears,
That bids our sorrows cease,
'Tis music in the sinner's ears,
'Tis life and health and peace.
He breaks the pow'r of canceled sin,
He sets the pris'ner free,
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me.
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ;
Ye blind, behold your Saviour come;
And leap, ye lame, for joy."
Luke 24:13-35 tells about about who Jesus is when two men were walking to Emmaus and talking about Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection -- Jesus Himself came up and walked along with them, but they recognized Him only when He broke bread with them --
Do you recognize Jesus in your life? Do you know who He really is? Most people don't have a clue. Jesus says, "I AM the Lord God of Heaven and earth, I AM Emmanuel---God with you---I AM the God of glory and of light, my hand split the heavens to dispel the night, there is no force above Me or other power or might but only my Word brought forth the world and gave you Life. The trillions of stars and signs that I created are to point you to Me who am the Truth and the Way to eternal Life (John 14:6). I have you and the whole world in My hands." (See Matthew 1:23, John 3:16, John 1:1,14,12)
When we try to find words to extoll Jesus, it's as when the Apostle Paul had to admit in 1 Corinthians 2:9 that no eye has seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love Him -- human words cannot contain the majesty and beauty and glory of Christ Jesus.
We will see Him as He is when He comes for us. John described Him in Revelation 1>13-18, "I saw someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash round his chest. His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. In his right hand he held seven stars, and out of his mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance, and I fell at his feet ... ten he placed his right hand on me and said Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades.
He appeared as the majestic and mighty God here, the King of kings and Lord of lords, but when He comes for us---His Church, His Bride---we will see Him as our Bridegroom who is Love and all Wonderful, and our Shepherd and Counselor and Prince of Peace!
It is beyond comprehension and understanding that any true Christian, any Follower of Jesus does not know what His Word says from cover to cover -- that they have not continually read and studied it to come to know Him -- as a Bride waiting for her Bridegroom reads His letters of His love for her! Our Bridegroom is coming very soon to take us to His Home He is preparing for us, but in the meantime we can walk with Him through the Bible---His Word---that He
"breathed into every one who wrote the Old and New Testaments" to see that He is Theme in each book, and He is God in the flesh and is Holy, Holy, Holy, and showing utter Love to us on every page!
As with the two men walking with them to Emmaus, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, Jesus is explained in all the Scriptures concerning Himself -- let Him come into your home and break the Bread with you so that your eyes can be opened to recognize Him too! Jesus is The Word of God, and The Water and Bread of Life -- and He will explain His Scriptures to us, as we ask Him, from Genesis through Revelation -- and our hearts will also burn within us as He talks with us and opens them to us! He points us to His Words of Promise that tell us again that we are His dearly loved children and that He will stand by us always, and our pathway will become a great highway of learning, companionship, conversation, belief and hope -- there will be an inexhausible supply of getting to know Him!

The entire Bible then is about Jesus, and Jesus our Messiah. We ask, if Jesus is the Messiah, why is it that the Jews don't recognize Him? Near as we can tell the only reason they reject Jesus is because He did not set up His eternal kingdom. Before Jesus arrived on the scene, some of the Jewish Priests were beginning to teach that they were to look for two Messiahs. Their understanding of the scriptures was such that there must be a suffering Messiah and a conquering Messiah and they could not resolve the two into one Messiah.
They were just too different. They did not understand the purpose of the suffering Messiah and would therefore look only for the conquering Messiah, the One that would set up His eternal kingdom here on earth. How close they were to getting it. The New Testament is the story of one Messiah and two comings.
When the Messiah comes to set up His eternal kingdom here on earth, the Bible says that all the Jews will see Him as Lord and Savior and Messiah, and will fall on their knees before Him. They will mourn that they scormed when He was here before, and will believe!
We are the most fortunate people in all the worlds who find Him and see Him -- the most wonderful and beautiful, the most loving and kindest, the God-Man
who is our Bridegroom, the best that this world and all the universes and even Heaven contains, who wonder of wonders loves us and longs to bring us Home with Him to live for Eternity!
Fall in love anew with Jesus our Lord God and Savior today! Give Him your whole heart and life to guide because He has your best interests at heart and wants to help and keep you safe until that blessed day!
